Jubin Nautiyal returned to Mumbai in 2011 after spending four years learning music in various places. Despite not making it to the top 25 rounds of a reality show, he persevered in the music industry. Although he initially had no connections in Bollywood, Jubin worked in different music productions and made efforts to meet music directors. His journey involved facing rejections and trying his luck in various places.
Carrying his guitar wherever he went, Jubin would share his music with people. He participated in scratch performances, where a local singer sings a popular song before it gets recorded by a renowned singer. Jubin went through approximately 100-150 scratch performances.
His breakthrough came when he got the opportunity to perform the scratch for a song in Akshay Kumar’s film “Shaukeen.” The director liked Jubin’s voice, and Akshay suggested retaining his voice for the final recording. The song, titled “Meherbani,” was released in 2016.Following this success,
Jubin recorded the song “Ek Mulakat” for the movie “Sonali Cable,” which was released in 2014. “Meherbani” and “Ek Mulakat” became hits, marking Jubin’s entry into Bollywood. Since then, he has delivered numerous hit songs in Bollywood as well as in Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and English.
